| Hazel's Story |
Hazel was born into a meek and mild (mostly female) eleven-family. Once she was old enough to explore on her own, she wandered into a local nearby village where she was exposed to her first thief - Hunnam (hun - Num). She observed his cool and calm behavior while wandering throughout the market, stealing things from merchant carts, stalls, and people (still and wandering). Once the thief thought he was safe and alone, Hazel silently appeared behind him and asked what he was doing - surprising Hunnam. From this day forward, Hunnam would train Hazel to be the most prominent thief in the area. Hazel found excitement stealing for the thrill, but mostly to help her eleven family who were strictly traditional and rejected Hazel's modest lifestyle. This humble eleven background instilled Ilmater as the god Hazel looked to for guidance and strength to avoid succumbing to the greed and glutton of the trade as most thieves did.

One night a family of nobles visited the local village, Hazel had just begun to call home. They flourished the village with enough gold to inspire the townsfolk to expand their shops and farms. Unbeknownst to everyone, these nobles weren't just rich, they were vampires! Hazel spent most of her time acting as a guide to the young woman in the family - Natalia was her name. Hazel quickly fell smitten with the woman's charm and felt safe telling her of all of her greatest feats as a thief. Natalia was intrigued by this and asked Hazel to meet this wonderful Hunnam, she spoke so highly of. Hazel led Natalia and her family into the local tavern, and there was Hunnam - loud and full of ale. The three of them drank and danced until the morning. Hazel woke up to her family in the nearby forest, covered in blood and bruises. Hazel demanded an explanation, but her family was just as confused. After regaining her breath, Hazel went back to the village. Flyers were posted all around with hideous drawings of monsters with sharp fangs. As the confusion continued to loom over Hazel like a dark cloud, she decided to ask the blacksmith for details of what happened.

The blacksmith explained that about 3 or 4 nights ago, screams filled the night, he was at home but prepared for the worst nonetheless. Once the sun came up, the remaining villagers wandered around searching for answers to the horrid sounds. The tavern had been attacked with only one surviving witness, the barkeep. The barkeep explained while everyone was having a good time, the nobles' faces turned from beautiful to monstrous. They attacked everyone leaving no one alive. The barkeep said this with his last breath. Hazel ran in a panic to her home to see if Hunnam made it out alive, but all that remained was a blood stained letter from Natalia on her bed. Hazel still carries this letter around, but she has not dared to read its contents as she believes this would confirm what she already knows: Natalia's affection was a ploy to manipulate Hazel, and that Hunnam was dead.

Since this tragedy, Hazel decided to expand her travels outside the comfort of her family's camp, and the nearby village. Along this journey she would send back gold and trinkets to her family, keeping them updated. At times Hazel felt home-sick, but Natalia's letter, reminded Hazel of the true reason she could never go back. The guilt was too much to bear of losing her closest friend, and that's when Hazel had a great idea. She would enlist the services of bounty hunters, but not just any hunters would do. Hazel began to ask around where she could find the most experienced bounty hunters in the area, and inform them of her vengeful goal. If they weren't up for the task of clearing out a whole clan, then at least Hazel could train with them and prepare for the task alone.
