It was an absolute honor getting to play this game early and make this video for you guys. I've been a doom fan for as long as I can remember and even got the slayer tattooed on my arm. Yes, I'm bias af about this game. But I'm not pulling any punches. There was some things I was not sure about how I felt and some things I loved. Here's those impressions in a 10 min video.

Doom: The Dark Ages is an upcoming first-person shooter developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks, set to expand the iconic Doom franchise. Announced during the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2024, it serves as a prequel to Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal, taking players back to a medieval-inspired era in the Doom universe. The game follows the Doom Slayer in a gritty, fantasy-infused setting where he battles demonic forces with a mix of traditional weapons like swords and shields alongside the series' signature firearms. This blend of old-world aesthetics and high-octane action introduces a fresh yet familiar twist to the franchise, promising intense combat and a deeper exploration of the Slayer’s origins.

The game’s reveal trailer showcased a dark, atmospheric world filled with towering castles, molten landscapes, and grotesque enemies, hinting at a narrative that ties into the Slayer’s eternal war against Hell. Doom: The Dark Ages is built on id Software’s latest id Tech engine, ensuring stunning visuals and smooth, fast-paced gameplay. New mechanics, such as wielding a massive shield that doubles as a weapon and riding a dragon-like creature, add variety to the Slayer’s arsenal. With a release window set for 2025 on platforms including PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, the game aims to deliver the visceral thrills fans expect while pushing the series into bold, uncharted territory.
