With last week's Nor'easter and its snow in the rear view mirror, on Sunday, March 11, I headed back down to Maryland's Upper Eastern Shore to check in on the yellow perch run. I met up with my father and brothers at our favorite perch fishing spot and we gave them a run. Although the fishing was not as easy as last weekend, we did have some success on a new pattern. My primary outfit is a 6' light action Fenwick Eagle spinning rod with a Pflueger President 6920 reel and 8 lb test J-Braid line. I fish a double jig dropshot rig (see my recent video for a tutorial on how to tie that rig) using #6 aberdeen hooks and Bust 'Em Baits Stingers pintail plastic grubs rather than the jigs I typically use for that rig. Orange was the best color of the day, as it has been all spring. Our music is Barrel House Blues by Johnny Otis.
