Software Consultancy Business Model (How Billing and Salary are related)

Описание к видео Software Consultancy Business Model (How Billing and Salary are related)

Hi, today I'm going to be talking about code - and money. Going through how a software developer working in a consultancy is billing and gets paid. This works as a prequel for my next upcoming video, about how much software developers in Finland are getting paid, and how you can increase your income, should you choose to do so.

This is not my normal coding video, so if you're not so much into money, and would rather watch me write some nova-hot Java or Python, skip this one and see you around later. But if the monetary side of things interests you, stick around, let's go through the math.

Also, as always, feedback is much welcome. If you notice something that's off or want to chime in for details, or just appreciate the content, leave me some feedback below, and I'll get back to you. Like if you like the video, subscribe if you wanna see more, you know the drill.

Note: In this example I deducted VAT from the hourly billing rate, which implies the hourly billing rate was with VAT included, of course, we can use numbers with VAT excluded as they are typically communicated between companies. In that case, you can skip the VAT step, and not deduct it from the yearly billing. It seems in Finland the hourly billing for software development services can range from 70 euros per hour to 150 euros per hour or more, for specialist skills in-demand.
