Friends in the Dark by Aurelio Voltaire - World Premiere Song from Black Labyrinth

Very early in the tale of The Black Labyrinth, our protagonist sees a sign directing the way to the Goblin City and it's pointing into a very dark forest. Despite the warnings of a talking raven, he enters alone. Night falls and he's surrounded by five strange creatures that look like emaciated gargoyles.
Victims of The Shadow, their eyes are clouded over and their skin is gray and rough. One could perhaps imagine that at one time, they may have been covered in colorful plumage.
They sing our protagonist this song insisting they should lead him through the forest, but their creepy appearance and overzealous sales pitch cause him to question their intentions. Should he trust them?

Lightning strikes and all of the animals scurry back to their holes.
The million eyes of the nightmare jungle make you wish you weren't alone.
The trees might bite 'cause all of their bark is bending into sinister grins.
You might be right if you think the horror is just about to begin.

The night is falling, your faith is faltering and you're alone.
What's your plan to survive when you find you're alone in the dark?
You can pray to the Lord of the Light but you ain't gonna get too far.
You can sit in the cold, dark night and just hope for a spark.
You might make your way in the day but you'll need friends in the dark.

Shapes emerge from the shadows and they're coming from every way.
From the black of the briar they're howling hungry.
How will you keep them at bay?
Your blood runs cold, a chill like a knife is cutting right into your veins.
Fear takes hold, you pray it's the wind when you hear someone whisper your name.

The night is calling, your faith is faltering and you're alone.
