My Penultimate Wainwright BOWFELL via The Climbers Traverse, parking at the Old Dungeon Gill, we walk through Stool End Farm and up The Band towards Bowfell. Two of the group walk up towards The Three Tarns, to ascend Bowfell from that way but three of us divert off the main path and ascend via the Climbers Traverse, a route that should only be used for people with a good head for heights. After a scrambly climb up to the ridge, the group all meet again on Bowfell summit, before the long walk back to the Three Tarns and The band. A pint at The Old Dungeon Gill, was the perfect way celebrate my Penultimate Wainwright Bowfell!
