Political analyst Aubrey Matshiqi unpacks political climate and other developments

Calls are mounting for President Cyril Ramaphosa to step down from his position, pending the outcome of the ongoing investigations into the robbery that took place at his Phala Phala game farm. The latest of these calls is from African National Congress (ANC) veteran, Mavuso Msimang - who says it is advisable for the President to step down for sake of the stability of the ANC and the country. The President and his office have chosen not to comment on the matter saying they would rather allow relevant law enforcement agencies to investigate.

Last month, former state security head, Arthur Fraser laid a criminal complaint against the president. Those charges include money laundering and the subsequent alleged torture of some of the suspects.
