Kilovolt Tech Talks EP010: Fardriver ND72270 Encoder Version Controller for QS165 72v Sur ron

Introducing the latest offering from Far Driver the ND72270 which is designed for use with the QS165 and as a result supports encoders.

The casing also features heatsink fins machined into the lower heat diffusion plate compared to the usual flat surface usually used by Far Driver controllers.

Interestingly Far Driver made the decision to name this controller slightly differently to the product naming structure they normally incorporate -

NDxxyyy (xx = nominal voltage , yyy = peak phase amps)
for example

ND96850 = 96v 850a phase amps
ND72530 = 72v 530a phase amps

but for what ever reason in this case they have swapped things around so the name ND72270 = 72v 490a

also worth noting is that the wiring loom is also different to a standard Far Driver wiring loom
