The New River in Fort Lauderdale - North Fork

Описание к видео The New River in Fort Lauderdale - North Fork

I love going to the various parks on the New River.

Why is the name "The New River" you might wonder? Like many things, no one seems to know for sure. Some say, it was named the "Himmarshee" River by the Seminole Indians - which Translates to "New Water" - because the river appeared after a storm.

Others think it was named by American map makers in the early 1920s because the river kept shifting its course - and they had to regularly update the maps and would designate it on the maps as the "New" river.

But since I don't have a boat [and don't want a boat] exploring the river by air is plenty good enough for me - all the places you can only see by boat - or by air.

This was my initial survey of the river - most of this I flew it at 100 feet - so I can see how high the sailboat masts are before I create a scenic video.

the part near the end?

I was at 68 feet and as you can see - there is at least one mast only slightly shorter than that.
