WRITTEN RECIPE

INGREDIENTS (Makes 8)
1/2 cup warm water
1 tsp sugar
10g active dry (or instant) yeast
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup full fat plain yogurt
1 tbsp oil
3 tbsp butter, melted
Swiss cheese
Oil (for oiling bowl during proof)
Water (for picking up dough while rolling)

DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Whisk together and set aside for 10 minutes to allow yeast to ferment
Once foamy, add all purpose flour, salt, yogurt, and oil
Using a fork, mix together until a shaggy dough is formed
Pour dough onto a clean surface and knead dough for 8-10 minutes
Lightly oil a large bowl and place dough in. Roll the dough around in the oil
Cover and proof in a warm spot for 1 hour
After 1 hour, the dough should've doubled in size
Section the dough into 8 pieces
Roll each piece into a ball
Cover dough and let rest for 10 minutes
Preheat a cast iron or nonstick pan on medium high heat
Roll out dough with a rolling pin into a rough circular shape (~ 1/4 inch thickness)
Lightly wet fingers and pick up dough and transfer to hot pan
Cook for 2 minutes, you should see bubbles forming on top
Flip and cover with a lid and cook for 1 minute
Repeat for all dough
Brush cooked naan with butter on all sides
OPTIONAL: add garlic and herbs to butter for more flavor!
Melt swiss cheese in a pan or microwave and pour over the naan

MY VERSION (stuffed cheese naan)
Roll out dough with a rolling pin
Place a few thing slices of swiss cheese in the center
Fold dough over cheese
Roll out dough into rough circular shape
It'll be thicker so roll out as thin as possible without tearing dough
Lightly wet fingers and pick up dough and transfer to hot pan
Cook for 2 minutes, you should see bubbles forming on top
Flip and cover with a lid and cook for 1 minute
Brush with butter on all sides
