SAKHIPRANA - The Eternal Wait | Ft NJ Nandini Vishnudev KS | Javali

Описание к видео SAKHIPRANA - The Eternal Wait | Ft NJ Nandini Vishnudev KS | Javali

Humbled to present the famous and ever classic Javali of Dharmapuri Subbarayyer- Sakhi Prana. Javali- the carnatic music form is generally a lighter song or a lewd poetry with an erotic theme, usually depicting the emotions of nayika, or a conversation between nayika and sakhi recalling the moments spent with her man. Derived from the kannada word Javadi, or from sanskrit or even marathi, Jya means bow string of the cupid and aavali is the line up or continuation. Compared to padam, javali carries more of a colloquial language.

Sakhi praana - the earnest pining for one's long lost love. The feeling of betrayal, frustration and anger, lined with a small hope that someday, she may perhaps be reunited with the love of her life is depicted beautifully through this epic javali in chenchurutti.

Listen to our rendition of Sakhi prana- just the two voices and sruthi... From us to you ..!
