The 3-0, #13 Alabama Crimson Tide faced the 3-1 Ole Miss Rebels at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium. The year before, Ole Miss had stunned Alabama 22-12 at Bryant-Denny Stadium for their first win ever win in Tuscaloosa. That game became known as "The Brick Bowl" due to an infamous incident after the game where a brick was allegedly thrown through the window of Alabama head coach Bill Curry's office. This also stands out as the largest comeback in Alabama football history.
