The ice conditions were sketchy locally, so we headed north to target some fish. 2016 has been a horrible ice fishing season here on local waters. The lake we attended that day had just under a foot of ice 3 hours north of Ottawa. I had a couple of follows on the flasher from lake trout chasing lures. I managed to hook-up on a decent walleye from 50 feet deep. Video started half way through the catch. The walleye suffered baro-trauma and I was forced to bring it home for a meal. In regular conditions the fish would have been released. The walleye was caught on Rapala Jigging Rap.
