Apple Watch 6 Hiking & Trail Running Review: WorkOutDoors vs. AllTrails, ViewRanger, Gaia, Wikiloc

How good is hiking, backpacking, and trail running with the Apple Watch Series 6? For 2020, I review Watch Series 3, 4, 5, SE, and 6 — and tracking apps Apple Workout, WorkOutDoors, AllTrails, ViewRanger, Gaia GPS, and Wikiloc — while hiking the famous Kalalau Trail on Kauai in Hawaii.

NOTE: Gaia GPS released a redesigned version of their Watch app just 10 days after I uploaded this video. The app now works standalone (without the iPhone) but is only marginally improved from what I've described in the video. I'll post an update soon.
