Today we take another look at the Bahama Mama, the tropical drink created in the Bahamas (or maybe Florida) by the one and only hotelier Bob Gill for his Colonial Hotel in Nassau. I knew I wanted to return to try the other popular variations of the drink, including the recipe provided by Martin Cate that used coffee liqueur. If you go searching through the archives of Bahama Mama recipes, you find a mix of options ranging from orange curacao, Kahlua, and Nassau Royale liqueur. While Nassau Royale has been discontinued, I will be back soon to explore that recipe with an alternate liqueur.
