Have you noticed a TV, an envelope or a kite? They all have a similar shape. Such shape which is closed, is two-dimensional and has four straight sides is called as a Quadrilateral.

A quadrilateral is made up of two words quad meaning four and lateral meaning sides. Any object which has four sides is considered as a Quadrilateral. There are many types of quadrilateral such as a square, rhombus etc.
