Ever since Chris Hemsworth announced his eighth collaboration with the Marvel cinematic universe, fans have been waiting for Thor to return to the silver screen. This time, though, it is going to be a standalone film centered around the mighty superhero. Thor: Love and Thunder or Thor 4 as some people call it, will have the Australian actor look bigger and better than ever before. Going by his Instagram account, it looks like Chris is getting ripped left, right and centre for the coveted role. Recently, he posted a picture of himself flipping a humongous donut weight on his so-called ‘cheat day’.

Chris is naturally gifted with an impressive frame, but his bare bulky biceps here suggest he’s been on the grind. In fact, he has made muscle-building a mandatory part of his daily routine, even if it’s just for an hour. His workouts are well known to be short, but high on intensity, frequency and consistency. He’s also made his exercise and diet plan available to the masses on his much-talked-about app, Centr. His dedication to fitness, however, wasn’t well received by co-star Chris Pratt, who has recently been roped in to play his superhero star-lord in the film.

Commenting on his Instagram post, Pratt wrote "Hey bud. Just heard from my trainer and he needs you to stop working out because since we’re gonna be in the same movie and everything he doesn’t want me to stand next to you if you look like that, so I’m gonna need you to put on 25 lbs real quick cool thanks." But we all know that Chris being Chris, won’t budge.

Even while he was on vacation with his family in October, he ensured that he trained hard every day. This year has taught us all to get fit sans gyms and Hemsworth is no different. Now more than ever, he’s been working out isolation and enjoying activities such as horseback riding, deep sea diving and outdoor meditation. AskMen India breaks down one of Chris Hemsworth’s at-home crossfit workouts for Thor featuring his personal trainer Luke Zocchi. The circuit comprises 6 exercises that need to be done 5 times over.

Push-up and press
Push-up and press is a strength exercise that trains your body in both the vertical and horizontal plane. It is a full body functional movement that works on multiple muscle groups at the same up. When you lift the dumbbells above your head, you increase your arm strength and shoulder stability. When you go into a push-up, you improve your core strength, endurance and balance.

Follow these steps:

Stand with your feet shoulder width apart.
Hold dumbbells in your hands.
Extend your arms above your head.
Go into a plank position.
Bend your elbows.
Go as close to the floor as possible without touching it.
Straighten your elbows.
Jump back into the starting position.
Repeat 10 times in a seamless motion.
Tricep dips
Tricep dips are an excellent upper body exercise. Apart from toning your triceps, which are muscles situated at the back on your upper arms, they increase the strength, stability and range of motion of the shoulder joints. The deltoids and lats located at the back are also bolstered. Tricep dips are therefore amazing at strengthening your arms and accentuating your physique.

Follow these steps:

Stand with your feet shoulder width apart.
Place your palms on an elevated surface behind you.
Keep your arms straight.
Bend your knees at 90 degrees.
Bend your elbows and lower your body.
Straighten your elbows and bring your body back up.
Repeat 10 times in a seamless motion.
Dumbbell rows
Dumbbell rows are yet another strength exercise that increase your arm strength and shoulder stability. They accentuate your physique by working on multiple muscle groups at the same time. The elbow joints are also exercised as you bend and straighten your arms in an alternate motion. They also bolster the back muscles to an extent, as you’re required to lean slightly forward with your upper body.

Follow these steps:

Stand with your feet shoulder width apart.
Hold dumbbells in your hands.
Keep your knees slightly bent.
Lean slightly forward with your upper body.
Keep your arms straight on the sides.
Bend your forearms at 90 degrees.
Straighten your arms once again.
Repeat 10 times in a seamless motion.
Weighted squats
Weighted squats are a strength exercise for the lower body. They essentially work on your knee joints by increasing their strength, stability and flexibility as you bend and straighten your legs in an alternate motion. They also improve the range of motion of the hip joints and tone your thighs by stretching the hamstring and quadricep muscles. Squats are a foolproof way to achieve a set of strong legs.
