I am writing to formally express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the lack of assistance provided by the High Commission in a serious matter involving a Sri Lankan citizen.

a Sri Lankan national and a YouTuber who frequently travels internationally, recently travelled to Seychelles with all valid travel documents, including an approved visa, confirmed hotel bookings, a return ticket, and all other necessary supporting documents. Despite meeting all entry requirements, Suthan was detained by immigration authorities upon arrival, arrested, and held in custody for three days without being given any clear or valid reason. He was subsequently denied entry and deported.
During this distressing situation, I made several attempts to contact the Sri Lankan High Commission seeking guidance and assistance. Unfortunately, there was no response, nor was any action take n to support a Sri Lankan citizen facing such serious difficulties abroad.
As representatives of Sri Lanka and protectors of its citizens overseas, I believe the High Commission has a responsibility to at least provide guidance, intervention, or support when nationals encounter legal or immigration issues in foreign countries. The absence of a response in this case regarding Suthan’s detention is deeply concerning and disappointing.
I kindly request a formal explanation regarding the lack of assistance and what steps will be taken to ensure Sri Lankan citizens receive proper support in similar situations in the future.

from Colombo Airport. I booked an airport taxi on PickMe in Sri Lanka. They charged me around 7 USD for the PickMe to the airport from Negombo Boutique Villa. The flight was operated by Smartwings.com. They have a few direct flights weekly to Seychelles, but the ticket cost is around 300 USD to 500 USD, depending on the season. Onboard the flight, they provided a meal, dinner, beverages, and a blanket. The meal depends on the time; I received a breakfast meal which included chicken sausage, a fried egg omelet, beans, and yogurt, which is Seychellois cultural food.

The flight departed at 4:50 AM from Colombo and arrived at 7:30 AM Seychelles Mahe Island time. Their currency is SCR (Seychelles Rupees).

1 USD is equivalent to 13.59 Seychellois Rupees.
1 SCR is equivalent to 22.85 Sri Lankan Rupees.
1 SCR is equivalent to 6.70 Indian Rupees.

Before you visit Seychelles as a tourist or worker, you must obtain a valid entry permit from their government, have a booked and paid hotel, and bring enough show money for your stay to avoid immigration rejections. It was a very nice experience on the flight to Seychelles, Africa. Also, there are many Sri Lankan Tamil and Sinhala people working there, so you can meet them.

I traveled to Seychelles by Air Seychelles flight from Jaffna to Colombo by bus, then by flight. You know why I said I traveled to Seychelles Island like traveling to France? The reason is that it was under French and British colonization, and at that time, Indians and Africans settled on that island. In the upcoming video, you'll see that before I got on the flight, I stayed at Negombo Boutique Villa, which is near Katunayake Airport.
