When leading health and fitness expert Larry North opened his first Dallas gym in 1989, the 1,800 square foot space was a fraction of the size of most health clubs. Far different from the mirrored walls and pounding music of other fitness centers, Larry "cherry picked" equipment from top manufacturers, hired only highly experienced certified trainers, and emphasized personal attention by having a high trainer-to-member ratio. The phenomenal success of this customized fitness center led Larry to believe that there was an entire market of customers not being served by mainstream gyms.

Each member of Larry North Fitness has the opportunity to take advantage of the North Fitness Program and can attend periodic seminars on health and nutrition provided by Larry or other qualified staff members. While there are plans to open additional Larry North Fitness facilities in other cities across the country, Larry believes, "Success is not about how many gyms or how many members we have. It is about successful clients who lose weight and keep it off by taking advantage of our comprehensive health and fitness programs."
