Here's a rare commercial for a very early home video game system (actually the first ever to feature separate cartridges for the games) from Fairchild - The Channel F System II.

Here, everyone's "Uncle Miltie," Milton Berle, demonstrates how what it took to entertain people changed from when he was presiding over the Texaco Star Theatre 30 years before (with a kinescope of him on the tube in the background at the start of this commercial).

Available at Dart Drug (but there's a technical error - the super for Fairchild's Timeband watches available at Montgomery Ward appears at the end. That commercial (seen here:    • Timeband Watches - by Fairchild (Commercia...  ) immediately preceded the Channel F one in this broadcast so they must have left in the previous slide by accident and forgot to put in the one for Dart Drug)

This is the first and only commercial I've ever found for the Fairchild Channel F system. I wonder if the fact this is from a Washington D.C. airing has any relevance. Maybe they didn't advertise as much in the Chicago area?

This aired on local Washington D.C. TV early Sunday, November 26th 1978 at about 1:20am (Eastern time).
