To make my life easier and program a lot of Sonoff basic switches, I made small jigs to help me with properly aligning the pins from the various USB to Serial adapters that I have.

Since all of these USB-to Serial adapters come with a different pinout, it is always tricky to mess with wires. Although doable for a single device, if you want to flash a custom firmware, like Tasmota, to more than one switch, then this process gets lengthy and frustrating.

The jig that I made, helps quite a lot since all you need to do is to plug it into the serial to USB adapter and make sure that you align the 3.3V power pin correctly. All the rest will then be right and connected as they should.

This jig is made out of prototyping PCB and some male and female headers and anyone can easily make it with some basic soldering skills. Check out the video for more details and level up your Sonoff game with easy programming.
