On this clip of the atm podcast Munashe and Thabang discuss , The January 2019 incident ,involving Argentine footballer Emiliano Sala who died in a plane crash while he was on his way to join his new club Cardiff City FC. At the time, Sala was in the process of being transferred from FC Nantes to Cardiff City FC, with the transfer fee of £15m.

Recently, it was reported that Cardiff City FC is suing FC Nantes over the transfer of Emiliano Sala. Cardiff City FC claimed that they shouldn't be required to pay the transfer fee to FC Nantes as the transfer was not completed before the untimely death of Sala. Therefore, they argue that the contract between the two clubs was nullified at that point.

FC Nantes, on the other hand, claimed that the transfer was completed and Sala became a Cardiff City FC player before his death. They, therefore, believe they are entitled to receive the transfer fee as per the terms of the contract.

The case is ongoing, and it is yet to be determined by the court who is liable to pay the transfer fee. The legal proceedings are likely to be complicated and protracted as both parties have different positions on the matter. This legal battle will continue to be closely monitored by Football fans and enthusiasts alike.
