Pragmatics: The Rules of Language

Описание к видео Pragmatics: The Rules of Language

Speech Therapy Tips: Social Skills. Non-verbal Cues. Conversational Turn-taking. The back-and-forth of language. Rules, rules, rules. Today we are finishing up our 5-part series about the 5 main areas of language, as we explore Pragmatics, or the rules that govern our language. Pragmatics incorporates communication functions, or the purposes for which we communicate, as well as non-verbal cues and gestures. This area also includes the ability to request clarification when a message is unclear, or to provide revisions to our messages, if it seems our listener does not understand. All of these skills can be difficult to learn, especially for kiddos on the Autism spectrum.
