I had the pleasure of talking with the wonderful, Julie Bliven, about what it's like working as an editor, books, and how it felt to have her own picture book debut. Watch the video to learn more about her now.

Julie Bliven has been editor at Charlesbridge for more than a decade. She acquires and edits fiction and nonfiction board books, picture books, and middle-grade novels. Julie holds an M.A. in Children’s Literature from Simmons University, where she has taught and mentored students in the university’s M.F.A. program. She has also served as a member of the Children’s Book Council Diversity Initiative. In the spring of 2023, Julie’s debut picture book, Sometimes Shy, published.
