Illinois Railway Museum - Awesome Afterhours Switching w/ 1630 and other Steamers!

6/11/2017 - Part 3 of 3 - In the final installment of the IRM series, we witness the Frisco #1630 switching around a bundle of other old steam locomotives on the museum grounds! It was an amazing treat to watch and take video of!
The ultimate goal was to move Illinois Central 3719 into the museum's Shed 9 to take it out of the elements. Very cool to see all the moves that took place to accomplish this, especially since some of the museum's employees stated that some of these engines haven't moved since 1993, some even later than that! What a way to end the day!

Time-stamps:

(0:01) - 1630 pulls SP 975 and C&O 2707 out of the yard

(2:01) - 1630 pushes SP 975 and C&O 2707 into the 4th stall in Shed 9 to move the UP DDA40X farther back to make room for IC 3719.

(8:07) - SP 975 and C&O 2707 are shoved into the 2nd stall of Shed 9, later to return to the steam yard. 1630 returns to the steam yard to pick up more engines.

(14:06) - 1630 switches GTW 8380 and Lee Tidewater Cypress 18 onto another yard track

(22:29) - IC 3719 is pulled out of the yard

(23:52) - (Filmed from inside the shed!) IC 3719 is pushed into the 4th stall of Shed 9

(26:17) - 1630 returns to the yard
