"I do not see color, I see light and dark..." asserts Mohammad Omar Khalil with conviction.

In the video, Khalil guides us through his personal etching and printing process in his New York studio. Following a long collaboration with Khalil, we met in his New York studio in preparation for his first major exhibition in London. The exhibition entitled, Homeland Under My Nails: Mohammad Omar Khalil, Selected Prints (1965-present), opened this January at The Mosaic Rooms in London. Curated by Abed Al-Kadiri, the show presents 60 years of Khalil's prolific printmaking and showcases his early work and stylistic experimentation through his travels to Morocco, Italy, New York and Sudan.
