Physical Geography of Europe Part 2: Climate and Human-Environment Interaction

Описание к видео Physical Geography of Europe Part 2: Climate and Human-Environment Interaction

This is the second lesson of the physical geography of Europe focusing on the climate of Europe and how man has used the resources of the land as well as has impacted Europe's environment.

The effect of the North Atlantic Drift is examined, the four major climates of Europe (Marine West Coast, Humid Continental, Subarctic, and the Mediterranean), and even why some of the most famous western movies were actually shot in Italy and Spain.

The lesson also describes the effect that man's long settlement of Europe has had on the environment. This includes deforestation, acid rain, and the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster.

While this lesson is designed to support the Texas Education Knowledge and Skills standards of the World Geography studies course, it is useful to all viewers who wish to learn more about the physical geography of Europe.
