Sharp acute pelvic pain, just before or just after the period pain, has to be shown to a gynecologist. First rule out any pregnancy like ectopic pregnancy, that is abnormal pregnancy in the tube. Other causes like ovarian cyst, abnormal use of tablets or hormones, lifestyle of the patient, new exercises which are started have to be found out. If there is a persistent pain in the pre period, then it may be part of premenstrual syndrome. Show a gynecologist to rule out pregnancy, tube pregnancy and treat appropriately. If not, palpate, find the cause, might need abdominal scan and treat appropriately. If it is part of premenstrual syndrome, can be put on Vitamin tablets, primrose oils to bring down the PMS.
