Episode one of the Art Preserve video series, “Planning for the Art Preserve”, includes interviews with John Michael Kohler Arts Center Director Sam Gappmayer and Associate Director Amy Horst. They discuss Ruth DeYoung Kohler’s fundamental role in the creation of the Art Preserve and the planning process behind the creation of this one-of-a-kind facility dedicated to the display of artist-built environments.


This video was produced by the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in 2021, directed by Valerie Lazalier, and edited by Andrew Swant. On-site footage was filmed by Andrew Swant, Chris Thompson, and Jeff Machtig. Photography was shot by Jeff Machtig and Rich Maciejewski unless otherwise noted.
