Mind Blowing Landscapes in the NAMIB desert - Brandberg // EP.58

Описание к видео Mind Blowing Landscapes in the NAMIB desert - Brandberg // EP.58

We are crossing the Namib desert, west to east, changing landscapes, from barren mars like terrain to green riverfronts, and high mountains of the Brandberg.

The Namib the oldest desert in the world, is an small desert, but with a variety of landscapes that cannot leave you indifferent. We are starting at the coast, in Cape Cross and making our way through fields full with Welwitschias and lichen. Welwitschias are one of the weirdest looking plants out there. They survive thanks to the fog in the first 80km from the coast, and they can live thousands of years, growing steadily and looking like giant octopuses on the desert floor.

We continue and the plants dissapear, there is no vegetation anymore, until we reach the mountains of the Brandberg massive. Here one finds the tallest peak in Namibia, and a place with so much fauna and flora. The mountains catch the clouds and discharge in the form of rain in the valley.

We continue exploring the area and find stricking yellow grasslands. Full with wildlife. There is so much green in the Ugab river and still some areas are wet . Here at lunch time we realize that we have a crack in the body of the bluelandy.

We camped at one very weird place, where rocks are piled together as put there by aliens.
But it us one of the best places to watch the stars at night.

We leave the dry areas and start seeing many trees, as we get closer to Windhoek. But more about this area in the next episode!

Enjoy the Ride!
