Mitigating human-wildlife conflict through water for all strategy: wildlife, people & livestock

In biodiversity rich areas across Kenya, mitigating human-wildlife conflict fuelled by lack of water can only be achieved through a water for all strategy, water for wildlife, people and their livestock.

A community in Gutale, Garissa County which has experienced four consecutive failed rainy seasons, and lost over 50% of their livestock to climate change-induced drought, is determined to harvest six million liters of rainwater.

Our Head of Biodiversity, Research, and Innovation Dr. Yussuf Wato explains how WWF-Kenya is supporting community-led climate adaptation interventions to mitigate human-wildlife conflict and boost #OneHealth by bringing water for all: wildlife, people, and their livestock.
