Empowered through Agape Family Care Skills Training – Irene Mugwagwa
A friend sent me a poster on WhatsApp for the Agape Family Care Women Empowerment Creative Skills Training Session with the message... “I know you will be interested...” She couldn't have been more correct.
Having been a housewife; the Agape Family Care Women Empowerment Creative Skills Training was an eye opening and outstanding experience as I learnt how to make beautiful bead and Macrame bags, Zulu necklaces, Zulu headgears and earrings. Through this training I learnt so much more; how to shape my bags, how to market them, how to price them and how to position them. I now make key holders as well and am experimenting with new earrings and Zulu necklace patterns and color mixtures. Through this opportunity I have gained access to attend national exhibitions. I now have links with various exhibitors who in turn invite me for more exhibitions while others continue to teach me new skills that will help improve my trade. I am proud to say that I now earn foreign currency from international sales and local currency from my local sales.
My family’s life has been impacted for the better; and I am mostly touched by the encouragement and unwavering support I have received from my husband. I have passed on the skills I acquired to my daughters, and they also can now make bracelets and earrings.
These new skills have empowered me and continue to positively change my world. I now have multiple streams of income and greater opportunities to give.
