The UWA Institute of Agriculture’s 18th annual Industry Forum on 17 July at the University Club of WA attracted 270 attendees who were clearly all very passionate about the topic ‘Can agriculture reach Net Zero?’. This event is proudly supported by CSBP and Farmers Ltd Jubilee of Agriculture Science Fellowship.

Curtin University Indigenous Liaison Manager Heidi Mippy presented the Welcome to Country, and The Hon. Reece Whitby MLA - Minister for Energy, Environment, and Climate Action formally opened the Industry Forum. Soil CRC Chief Executive Officer Dr Michael Crawford travelled to Perth specifically to present his keynote address. Thank you also to UWA Professor Ross Kingwell and President of Pastoralists & Graziers Association (WA) Tony Seabrook for their passionate and informative talks.

The panel and audience Q&A was facilitated by Planfarm agronomy consultant Rob Grima. Panellists included Challa Station pastoralist Debbie Dowden, Inter.Earth’s Peter Metcalfe, 2023 CBH Group Nuffield scholar and Mingenew farmer Rebecca Kelly, and Farm Business Advisor Richard Brake.
