The HORRIFIC Executions Of The Mauthausen Stairs Of Death

Inside of Mauthausen Concentration Camp was a specific structure which invoked fear and struck horror into the hearts of the prisoners. The Stairs Of Death were a flight of 186 steps in which inmates were forced to carry very heavy blocks of granite up as quickly as they could. They were constantly whipped by the SS guards and accidents were very common with people regularly falling over other prisoners, resulting in very bad injuries. But the Stairs of Death were also used for executions.

The evil SS guards would play a game they referred to as 'The Parachutists Wall,' in which they would force inmates to the edge of the cliff above the stone quarry. They would then ask the person behind the person on the edge to push them off, if they did not they were shot. This resulted in the executions of hundreds of people and the actions of the SS guards became notorious.
