Opportunities for a new era of democratic change will be available in 2010 with the Tasmanian State Election. Some Tasmanians are anticipating that a minority government may be the result after the next election. However, in the lead up to the last State election a campaign was waged to highlight the reported negative effects of minority government. These may or may not be true.

Models and strategies effective governance need to be reviewed and discussed in the public domain in a constructive and objective manner. A power sharing government could provide the necessary platform to achieve a more community-inclusive, progressive government for the long term benefits of Tasmania. Tasmanians for a Healthy Democracy has organised a forum to raise public awareness regarding alternative styles of government suitable for Tasmania. An overview of Tasmanian Integrity Commission will be provided. There will be a moderated session enabling experts to discuss key issues and opportunities with politicians and the public.
