I restored a 1949 Farmall Cub which was originally owned by my Great Grandfather. The tractor had spent many years outside in the elements. The body had some rust damage. The hood had a hole cut in the side and I had to replace it. The engine was running on 3 of the 4 cylinders. The hydraulics leaked at the beginning of the restoration. The tractor had been rewired by my Grandfather in 2000, when he inherited it. When I started the restoration, the wiring had been chewed and destroyed by rodents. During the restoration, I tore down the engine and did a complete rebuild. I also replaced every seal, every bolt, rewired the tractor, and repainted each piece of the tractor. This tractor has hydraulics, which was extra when this tractor was originally purchased. I replaced the hydraulic seals and gaskets due to leaking. This project has been very educational. I learned a lot about mechanics, body work, electrical, hydraulics, and painting.
