Then the calls started from Chase Credit Card. Part 2
Chase locked up my dad’s credit card just like the other banks did when someone passes away. This is normal and expected.
We asked Chase to keep the card open so that my mom will have a credit card open. Chase said no and did not even offer for her to apply.
Bank of America offered her a credit card and provide next steps on how to handle the finances.
Chase credit card would not offer to talk with us about the details of the credit card. After a few weeks had access to accounts and were able to see all bills and accounts.
Chase was owed 1500 +- on a credit card.
The time it takes to transfer over pensions from my dad to my mom was unknown and we were not sure on my mom’s income.
We started to make all the payments and for medical bills and credit cards we just paid 25 dollars a month until we were sure on mom’s income. Everyone got 25 dollars for the time being and all were fine with that except Chase Credit Card.
A lot of calls came to the house and unless my mom knew the name on the phone she did not answer. She did at times pick up for business names due to the fact that we were still figuring out the financial situation.
A call came in and she answered. “No he is not here, he…” the person on the other side hung up. Then my mom started to cry. I did not pay much attention to this because all kinds of calls were coming in and the littles thing would get my mom to cry.
This kept happening and when she would say that he is not here the other party would hang up. She would cry again and again.
I started to scroll through the readout on the phone and noticed that Chase was calling. My fault for not paying attention that Chase was the company hanging up and not talking causing my mom to cry at times.
I was fortunate to be at the house one day when the phone rang and I answered. They were asking for my dad and when I said No.. they hung up. There was not even time to say another word. We stopped answering the phone and Chase kept calling. This time they would not leave a message. Thank you.
