The college was established in the year 2002 and is located at Pathamuttom in Kottayam district. Saintgits College of Engineering is accredited by the Institution of Engineers (India), and the B Tech program is additionally accredited by the NBA (National Board of Accreditation). The college is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Thiruvananthapuram and offers AICTE-approved Post Graduate programs and a PhD in Management. College of Engineering was achieved autonomous status by the University Grants Commission (UGC), became one among the first three Engineering Colleges in Kerala to achieve this status. The main aim of the institution is to expose the young ones to the world of technology and business, give confidence and helps to face new challenges that enable them to excel in their field of study. The college has a team of dedicated and caring faculty support every students.
The College library spreads over two floors with an area of 1120 sqm. The college has specialized collections of books, journals & reference materials in basic sciences, engineering and technology, applied science and humanities. There is a collection of around 56100 Volumes of Books, 153 Print Journals, magazines and AICTE mandatory subscription of e journals of under graduate and post graduate programs. Separate hostel facilities for boy and girls are available. Hostel warden undertake the responsibilities over the students. They get healthy and nutritious food in the spic and span mess.
