Develop Training is one of the UK’s leading accredited providers of Compliance, Technical, and Safety training. We train over 30,000 professionals each year and our customers include some of the UK’s largest and best-known organisations from the Utilities and Construction, Defence, Healthcare, Facilities Management, and Telecommunication sectors.

We operate out of a number of training centres across the width and breadth of the UK from Linlithgow in Scotland down to Brentwood, Essex. However, we are also able to deliver a large number of our courses from other locations or via a range of eLearning options.

We currently deliver 11 confined space qualifications; including low, medium and high risk spaces as well as top person and authorised person.

We have fixed confined space training units at our Derby, York and Swindon centres, plus a mobile confined space lorry that allows us to bring the training to your own site.

All our qualifications are certified by CABWI and City and Guilds, ensuring that our training facilities and materials meet the highest industry standards.

At our Derby centre, our confined space unit is adaptable to many types of confined spaces including manholes, foul and surface water drainage systems, storage tanks, cable chambers and chemical storage areas.

Our training isn't just about ticking boxes; it's about real-world readiness. This is why the unit can be adapted for a wide range of rescue scenarios, difficult or straightforward, using a range of equipment. This allows delegates to practice in a controlled, safe environment. We can even customise our training content to fit your particular requirements or Safety Rules.

The Derby confined space unit has a 5 X 5m Braithwaite tank accessible via a 1 x 7m direct entry point with step irons, and an extendable 5m ladder. There are also 2 x 3.5m entry points, 1 x with step irons and 1 x entry point with nothing to simulate man riding activity.

The tank is connected by a small entry point behind the ladder into a 20m tunnel system. The tunnel is split into three sections with narrowing head space from 1.8m diameter to 1.4m to 0.90m diameter.

Within the tunnel system there are 3 x emergency exit doors and 1 x emergency exit door in the tank. Emergency lighting is throughout the facility along with CCTV.

All of this means that we can provide a realistic and immersive training experience.
