This is a real wax shell that is 3" diameter and 5" tall. The "flame" is quite realistic. If you've ever seen a Luminara candle I would say that this is as realistic if not more so than a Luminara candle. The plastic, teardrop shaped flame wiggles and the LED inside varies in intensity creating a very realistic flame effect especially from a short distance away. The switch lets you choose either a 4 hour or 8 hour cycle after which it turns off and turns back on the next day at the same time. Uses 2-C cell batteries.
