The secret to my bright colours is not really a secret. It’s a few simple rules of thumb that make colour pop, without getting too technical. In this video I flip through my work and explain how I use dark grounds, near-blacks, and bold colour pairings to get that punchy look.

I also share a great tip from Swindon artist Dave Bent about using Payne’s Grey instead of pure black, and how I now mix my darks with hints of blue or green for a more alive background.
