365 days of fades in 30 seconds...

At the start of June 2024, I registered to enter the 3rd annual Indigo Invitational/Redline Rally fading competition. My goal was to wear a single Iron Heart jacket as much as possible for a whole year, taking a photograph each day I was in the office to document its fade journey.

As for the jacket itself, I chose our 14oz selvedge denim work jacket (IHJ-122) because a) it’s one of the more unique Iron Heart cuts, and b) this was the first time we’d used a broken twill (zig-zag weave) denim, and I was curious to see how it would evolve compared to a standard twill. Over the course of the year, I managed to get in around 6–10 hours of wear most days and washed the jacket about once a month on average to keep it fresh.

Now that my year in the 122 is finally over, I thought it’d be cool to share the jacket's evolution with you all. I’m super pleased with how it turned out, but do let us know what you think.

Congratulations and hats off to all my fellow Redline competitors — there are some amazing shirts and jackets in the running, many of which I know for sure have mine beat. I’m just proud of myself for sticking with it and crossing the finish line!
