Federal Skilled Trades Program or the FSTP: Translate to Taglish with more English: The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) is one of the immigration programs managed under Canada's Express Entry system, designed specifically for skilled tradespeople who want to become permanent residents of Canada. The FSTP aims to fill labor shortages in specific trades by attracting individuals with practical skills and work experience in a wide range of skilled trades.

To be eligible for the FSTP, applicants must meet certain criteria, including having a valid job offer from a Canadian employer, certification of qualification in their skilled trade from a Canadian provincial or territorial authority, and language proficiency in English or French. They must also have at least two years of full-time work experience in a skilled trade within the five years preceding their application.

The Federal Skilled Trades Program was officially launched on January 2, 2013. It was created to address Canada's growing need for skilled trade workers and to complement the existing Federal Skilled Worker Program, providing a pathway for applicants who may not meet the educational requirements of the FSWP but have valuable skills in trades.
