Riot is moving ranked a new Riot made MMR system and then to another new one called TrueSkill 2 later this year. This should help have a more accurate mmr as well as better placements and lower smurfs since it's a skill-based system, maybe it will take performance into account too instead of just wins/loses. LoL Season 2024.
