“There is no security of any result yet, it is quite disputed, the truth is I am quite worried. I am interested in politics, but I don't support anyone myself, but I find scary certain proposals from Javier Milei. I don't agree with some of his visions, so I would find it worrying if he wins.”

“Milei is not my favorite, I didn't vote for him until now, but the reality is that I don't like Massa. So the only thing I hope is that Massa doesn't win. I mean, neither of them is what I would vote for, but between the two the one I like the least is Massa.”

“We have reached a moment where we are defined between the continuity of a model that we already know has failed, precisely the one who is a candidate for president is the current minister of economy who heads this entire process. But on the other side we have the uncertainty of an outsider of the politics that a few years ago came from the media, creates a new force, promotes these ideas of freedom, the pandemic as it was experienced in Argentina was very important for this. There is a lot of uncertainty about how this new character, if he comes to power having no political experience, would be able to solve all these problems.”

STORYLINE:
Voters in Argentina prepare to take to the polls to vote for a new president in upcoming elections.
After 20 years of center-left Peronist governments, Argentina could begin a new political cycle if the far-right candidate Javier Milei, an economist with no political experience and with proposals that generate fear in broad sectors of society, prevails in next Sunday's runoff.
In Buenos Aires, some voters spoke of their fears to vote for either of both candidates, given one is the herald of the continuity project and the other has presented himself as a politics outsider.
Milei will face the current Minister of Economy Sergio Massa in the vote.
The far-right Milei, from Freedom Advances, brings together voters who want drastic political and economic change and are fed up with inflation of 142% year-on-year, insecurity and corruption.
Sergio Massa, a Peronist with a moderate profile who represents Union for the Homeland, is a long-time leader who has held different public positions and was a candidate for president in 2015.
Looking ahead to the runoff, several polls show a scenario of a technical tie, with a slight advantage for one candidate or the other, although within the margin of error.
