New Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce in Black

The iconic Balocco Proving Ground recently hosted the long-awaited dynamic testing, ahead of type approval, of the new Alfa Romeo Junior in its sportiest version, the 280 horsepower Veloce. This model is fully electric and features unique solutions specifically developed by and for Alfa Romeo.

The Junior Veloce 280 embodies the brand's DNA and sporty attitude in compact dimensions, reintroducing the brand to one of the largest market segments in Europe. This model marks a symbolic welcome to a new generation of Alfa Romeo enthusiasts.

Designed to excite, the Junior 280 Veloce has been meticulously crafted by the same team of Italian Alfa Romeo engineers responsible for creating iconic models such as the 4C, 8C, Giulia & Stelvio Quadrifoglio, and Giulia GTA. The result is a perfect balance between best-in-class handling and great comfort for daily use.

The new electric powertrain in the Junior Veloce delivers 207 kilowatts or 280 horsepower and 345 Newton-meters of torque, making its debut with this model. For the first time in a front-wheel drive fully electric vehicle, the latest TorSen Type D mechanical limited-slip differential ensures optimal traction in all road conditions and on all surfaces.

Weighing just 1,590 kilograms, the Junior 280 Veloce is the lightest in its class. It also leads the segment in practicality, boasting the largest trunk among premium competitors at 400 liters and featuring the Alfa Romeo Cable Organizer for convenient charging cable storage.

Packed with technology, the Junior includes the “Hey Alfa” virtual assistant with generative artificial intelligence and an EV routing navigation system, making it the most technologically advanced Alfa Romeo to date.

The dynamic preview took place on the same circuits where the Alfa Romeo engineering team validated the dynamic design targets, including the renowned Alfa Romeo track and the Langhe circuit, which spans over 20 kilometers.

For the first time since its construction in 1992, drivers outside the Alfa Romeo engineering team were given access to the entire configuration of the Langhe circuit. The commercial offering for the Junior 280 Veloce includes an exclusive connected navigation system with access to over 600,000 charging stations, the largest charging network in Europe, an exclusive Free2move charge E-Card, and a Wallbox as standard equipment.
