Maybe I have a future in making trailers. I seem to spend more and more time on setting the tone of these videos with a fancy intro.

On to the notes!

This script took me ages. There was a lot to cover about the Alpha and I didn't want to leave anything out. As a result, this became the largest script I've produced a video for thus far, even prompting me to create a written version to go alongside it that provides even more detail. As a result, the VO recording and video editing process was put off for a few days simply out of dread. I knew it was going to take forever to get finished, it was such a daunting task I didn't feel inspired to get started. Nevertheless, I eventually did, but I would have (and certainly could have) gotten it done sooner. Hopefully I Can avoid that pitfall in the future.

The reason the script ended up being so long was, well, because the Destiny alpha, as limited as it was, was a lot to cover. It being the first time the game was playable to people outside of the press and event attendees, I wanted to cover exactly WHAT Destiny was to the layman. I feel like the actual design and gameplay of the game has been somewhat difficult to discern from trailers and previews and coverage outside of events has been really quiet. So I wanted to give an in-depth preview for people who've been in the dark. As a result, the script was kind of long-winded and a bit repetitive and I feel like this is one of my weaker scripts.

That intro sequence had me worried for a while, I felt like it was just too long. But when I was listening to the different pieces of music available from Destiny I found that one and thought "I can do something really cool with this." So it ended up being 60 seconds before my voice even comes on. But I liked it. Soooooooo I did it.

Destiny is really cool, scrubbing through this footage I really missed having access to the Alpha and the competitive multiplayer modes. Blasting through Fallen to get XP and gear and then using that stuff in multiplayer is really cool. That shotgun you start with may as well be the shotgun from Halo: Reach, too. Those running and jumping animations, too.
