Why were the Dutch at War with the Scilly Isles from 1651 to 1985?

The Germans have their 30 Years War, The Dutch have their 80 Years War and the English and French hated each other so much they even duked it out for the Hundred Year War (although it was actually longer!) But did you know the record for longest war has to go to the Isles of Scilly, off the southwestern coast of Cornwall, who were semi-officially "at war" with the Dutch Republic from 1651 until this terrible violence was finally put to an end in 1985 with the signing of a historic peace treaty between the Netherlands and the Islands. In this video I'm going to be taking a look at why the Dutch declared war on a tiny group of islands, how the war went, and why it lasted so long. Hope you all enjoy!
