Stroke Research Indicates Patients Often Stop Taking Medication

Dr. Cheryl Bushnell, a neurologist at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, discusses a 2010 study that showed that at least 25% of patients who had suffered a stroke stopped taking one or more of their prescribed stroke prevention medications within the first three months after being hospitalized—when the chance of having another stroke is highest.
