First day in Primosten Croatia.
We woke up late because we got there at around 3am. Had some tea and got dressed as we were excited to explore our surroundings. We didn't have a plan, but that's sometimes the best way to discover a new place. And discover we did! We walked trough the narrow streets of Primosten meet the sea on the eastern side of the Primosten old Town. We greeted some playfull seagulls gazed at the amazing views and strolled across the promenade untill we ended up at Mala Raduča beach, and let me tell you, it was breathtaking. Crystal clear water lapped at the shore, and the sun was casting a magical glow over everything.
We parked ourselves on the beach for a while, just soaking it all in. We couldn't resis t a dip in that gorgeous water. I threw on my snorkeling mask and dove in, and wouldn't you know it, I came face-to-face with a whole school of the friendliest fish I've ever seen! Later, we found out they were called Saddled sea bream, or Oblades - awesome name, right?
After all that swimming and sunbathing, our stomachs were rumbling. Luckily, there was a beach restaurant called Plava Laguna right there. We bellied up to the bar, and let me tell you, the portions were HUGE! Iulia got lasagna, and even though it was delicious, there was no way she could finish the whole thing. As for me, I went for the house pizza, which, get this, had sour cream and a raw egg on it! It was definitely a unique experience, but hey, when in Croatia, right?
Refueled and a little bewildered by the pizza, we wandered the charming streets of Primosten for a bit before heading back down to the beach. More snorkeling with our new finned friends, some delicious ice cream (mint chocolate chip for Daniel, passion fruit cheesecake for me - both amazing!), and plenty of swimming and sunbathing filled the rest of the afternoon.
By 6 pm, we were both pretty wiped. Back at our accommodation, a quick shower was all it took to convince us to put on some evening attire. We hopped in the car and took a short drive to Rogoznica, a nearby island. Our destination: Konoba Maslina, a highly-rated restaurant we simply had to try.
The place was incredible! As soon as we pulled up, we could tell it was special. There was even a giant aquarium in the middle of a park! Inside the restaurant, the waiter couldn't have been friendlier. He sat us on the terrace overlooking the sea - the perfect spot to unwind after a busy day.
Tucked into a delicious tuna steak, while I savored some perfectly grilled calamari. Seriously, the food was outstanding! Everything about Konoba Maslina - the food, the service, the atmosphere - was just perfect. We couldn't recommend it highly enough.
After dinner, we strolled hand-in-hand through Rogoznica, taking in the sights and the cool night air. Back at our place, a little TV and a well-deserved sleep around midnight capped off an amazing first day in Primosten. Tomorrow brings new adventures, but for now, sweet dreams!
